Battle ropes can seem gimmicky but check back with me how much of a joke they are after doing a few intervals of 30 seconds true max effort, 30 seconds rest. Anyways, just thought I'd share. My experience has been that battle ropes are fun, versatile, cheap, zero impact, don't take a lot of space to store, and get you sweating in a hurry.

I think the issue is multi faceted. Companies that make good benches often make leg machines. They don't want to eat into those profits. They also tend to make better products overall, and the weight distribution on a bench with leg extension isn't remotely even across the lift.

Just a power rack, bench, barbell, and plates isn’t too bad... but when you start factoring in dumbbells, cables, and machines that you’d have access to at a gym for $20-50 a month or so, the price and the amount of space it takes up can really get up there. My solution to be able to go into the 120s was to get a set of 20” Olympic dumbbells, I did from Titan. Order 16 Standard 10lb plates for $8 each shipped on Amazon prime. As a powerlifting gym should be— a dungeon. Thank you! It’s pretty rare you see a mono in a home gym. That’s great. Yeah, many years ago a famous local lifter build 3 of these. They got used at various meets in the late 90s / early 2000s. Its homemade, difficult to adjust and a little bit sketchy, but it does the trick!
